STAINED GLASS ARTIST

Specialising in SGO (STAINED GLASS OVERLAY )

Allow me to introduce myself

I am Laraine Bunt.

I started to work with the medium of SGO (Stained Glass Overlay) in 1989 at a small outlet at the Junction in the Newcastle Area, being a Signwriter, Ticketwriter and Commercial Artist I enjoyed learning the new skill evolved in the manufacture of beautiful Stained Glass Windows.

After the Dec 1989 Earth Quake the replication of traditional lead light windows was the main work that I performed, because of the building codes being changed and the use of safety glass implemented which meant they could not put back the Traditional Windows as they were too flexible, this process came into its own.

The process was very popular for the next number of years, for kitchen cabinets, bathroom windows as the overlay process can be worked on the opaque bathroom glass adding colour and design to what would normally be a plain window.

I later worked for a Glass Company that was operating in Mayfield then  moved to Broadmeadow "A Touch of Glass" consulting with clients and designing and manufacturing their beautiful windows.

I now operate from a workshop at home, thoroughly enjoying the creative outlet that working in this medium allows.

The flexibility of the product allows your hearts desire to be put onto glass, the colour pallet is amazing, the textures can replicate all glass types, possibilities are endless.
